(Luke 4:16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

(Luke 4:17) And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

(Luke 4:18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.

(Luke 4:19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

(Luke 4:20) And he closed the book and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

(Luke 4:21) And he began to say to them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Happy Easter

Easter comes from the word east. East is the direction of sunrise. The root of the word east is aus (to shine). Shine means brilliant light, to emit light.

(Matthew 24:27) "For as the lightening comes out of the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of man be."

Note: flash means a sudden burst of flame or light

(Ezekiel 43:2) "And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and his voice was like a noise of many waters; and the earth shined with his glory"

(Isaiah 49:13-16)

"Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains; for the Lord has comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted."

"But Zion said; The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me"

"Can a woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?" yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee"

"Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me"
